Welcome to this thing of ours...

They were a quiet, secretive bunch at first. No one knew where they came from-- if they'd always been here or what. Infact, at first it all seemed random. Bank robberies at the Square. Certain...disappearances at Capital. Dirty money flowing through Gioco, Blacklight, all the rest...but word travels fast in Kadath. Soon, even the lowliest dregs of the Iron Works knew their name.
They are Passione
, italian for 'Passion'. When it comes to crime, they are kings.
Passione is a new, influential criminal organization that has taken root in Lower Kadath! Putting their hands in the businesses of 'enforcement', weapons distribution, assassination, theft and other such activities of ill repute, Passione is powerful, elite, efficient and fiercely protective of it's territory. Lead by the enigmatic man known only as 'Boss', Passione has begun it's slow expansion outwards from the Blacklight District and hopes to in time cover all of Kadath in it's grip.
Until then of course...there's money to be made...
The Workings of Passione
Passione is an organization that knows crime and knows it well. Divided into closely knit cells and division, Passione takes members from all walks of life and society under the unifying purpose of self-advancement and community. Welcoming to new recruits, Passione operatives begin their start with a personal interview from the 'Boss' or, in his place, one of his lieutenants. If judged worthy to enter, they'll be accepted with open arms and treated as part of the family.
Those who prove unworthy however are never heard from again.
Despite this daunting risk though, membership is extremely coveted among the under-privileged rungs of Lower Kadath society due to the wide variety of perks that come with entry. Members of Passione are extremely well compensated for their efforts and recognition for the capable is swift and lucrative. Just as importantly, they're also exceptionally protected-- if attacked by an outside force, the full might of Passione is expected to pour down upon the foe unless severe repentance is paid back for the insult. This retribution isn't blind though and Lieutenants in the organization are expected to judge the situation in order to assure members don't wantonly provoke others or abuse their position.
You aren't expected to behave with any preconceived moral ideology in Passione-- but you are expected to act intelligently
and with some manner of dignity as to best represent the organization.
This same protection though is offered to the larger Passione network as well. While true members always receive preferential treatment, businesses and smaller organizations that swear allegiance to Passione and ask for their protection and services are rightly given it in exchange for tithes and obedience to the Boss and his Lieutenants. In this aspect, Passione bizarrely operates as a sort of 'Law and Order' among criminal society, keeping truly omnicidal threats from endangering their clients or business interests. It's for this reason that Passione remains both feared and respected in equal measure by those that fall under their umbrella.
In some ways, it's operation can be compared to a sort of 'criminal governance', with the 'Boss' as it's King...

---The Attitudes of Passione---
All types of unsavory characters are admitted into Passione provided they act in the best interests of the organization. Concepts like 'loyalty' and 'respect' are thrown around rather seriously, at least by the 'Boss', who is known not to tolerate fools gladly. Punishments for failure are rarely ever meted out unless extreme, continuous incompetence is shown and even the lowliest member will have enough income to compare to an upper class citizen in Upper Kadath.
A true meritocracy, more daring and resourceful members can easily find their wealth accumulating and though the 'Boss' never personally shows his face, he often extends personal favors and gifts to those that impress him. Members who are captured are usually considered high priority targets for jail break and in the event of a member's death, funerals are paid for by the organization. Despite the emphasis on loyalty, Passione members aren't required to or expected to like each other. However, the orders of superiors are considered absolute, the Boss's requests especially so and breaking from these orders are met with harsh punishments.
While those that simply 'network' with Passione are free to come and go as they please, membership is considered a lifetime affair. Once you join, the only way you leave is in a body bag and traitors are hunted down without question. Just as well, though there are infractions one can make in Passione, the one most grievously punished are inquiries to the Boss's identity. From day one, it's made clear that the Boss's entity is a secret that must remain so for his protection and to ensure the safety of Passione as a whole. Those who pry into the affair further get no second chances; they are often personally
eliminated by the Boss, often in extremely brutal ways as to set an example.

---The Code of Passione---
- 1. Loyalty to the organization is absolute. Take care of your family and they will take care of you.
- 2. Respect the edicts of your superiors and the Boss above all else.
- 3. An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us. Defend your brothers and sisters.
- 4. To pry into the identity of the Boss is unacceptable. To investigate it is treason.
- 5. Traitors are to be hunted down mercilessly and without exception.
- 6. Behave with dignity. You are no simple thug-- you are Passione. You are greater.
- 7. Defend your charges and territory well; it is better to make a customer than a victim.
- 8. To each according to his ability. Competence is rewarded and you should reward it in others.
- 9. You are Passione. Hold your head up in pride.
- 10. Obey the Boss and fortune will smile on you.

---How to Join---
In order to join Passione, you must first be screened by either the Boss or a Lieutenant. As such, either a quick ICC or a thread between yourself and one of those two in the form of an interview should commence. Afterwards, if your character is judged worthy of joining, you'll be added on in!
There are three different kinds of 'membership'. The first is that of a normal member
who are the doers of Passione. These people can have specific skills or specialties or none at all depending on their role. They are expected to obey their superiors in the chain of command but may otherwise act with impunity.
After them are the lieutenants
, who take orders directly from the Boss. These are the made men of the organization who can make their own missions and are considered more influential than a normal member. They are expected to obey the Boss and little else outside of him.
are those that, while not associated with Passione, still provide it valuable services or otherwise require their protection. Affiliates are expected to pay large tithes to Passione, either in the form of money or some other service and aren't granted the full protection given to normal members. However, in return for their service, Passione will also protect them from harm and occasionally perform tasks vital to their upkeep. Affiliation could last for either a long time or simply come in the form of someone who wants something done
