Figuring out the details of the bounty was interesting. Made them up on the fly.

Samus' armored form slowly made its way towards the Ironworks, the Hunter occasionally checking her map to make sure she was going in the right direction. Navigating was certainly interesting when you don't have any way to scan the area. If she knew where she was going she likely would have set off at much greater speeds, but unfortunately Samus didn't have that luxury. The Hunter grinned as she saw her target area in the distance... This was good.

But just what was it that attracted her to this area in the first place? Well, she was a Bounty Hunter, and it's only inevitable she finds one. Luckily it was one more suited to her tastes, nasty criminal. Apparently fond of stabs in the dark, mugging poor saps that wandered into alleys at night, not even leaving behind a disgruntled witness to complain. Not much information was available, and she had to do some digging in the criminal underworld to get what she had, which is hard when you don't have a reputation anymore.

It was a damn good thing Samus had learned how criminal underworlds work before she started taking up bounties from the federation, otherwise she wouldn't have been able to... Acquire the info necessary to locate him. Punk was hiding out in the Iron Works, going by the name "Darnov Sekoig". Whether or not that was his real name was yet to be seen however.

The Hunter was broken out of her thoughts as she closed in on the Iron Works district, prepared to start her search. It definitely wasn't going to be easy, guys like this usually found some hard to spot holes in the ground before they started this little ventures, and with Samus' luck he had a few eyes out for people looking for him. A pessimistic thought drifted through her mind, pondering if he already knew she was coming for him. Well, only one way to find out...

HISTORY

What drives someone to be a bounty hunter? That's a difficult question, one Samus would have bounced back with "For the money" if you asked. However... She would always seem distant when she answered. The reasons behind her actions are vast, and go clear back to her childhood...

When she was just a child, she was living on the Earth Colony K-2L. A mining colony, they had large deposits of a material known as Afloraltite. Used in the ignition of ship engines, it was highly sought after. One day, when Samus was just 3, a species known as the Chozo came to K-2L and asked for some of the Afloraltite, but was refused as they were unwilling to reveal their intentions. Whilst they were there, Samus caught the eye of a Chozo named Old Bird, and the two became quick friends before the Chozo's departure.

Not too soon after the Chozo left... The colony was raided. A race simply called The Space Pirates raided, and was lead by a being named Ridley. Samus, the young naive child she was at the time, asked Ridley if they could be friends. Her offer of friendship was rejected harshly, via an attempted murder. Her mother saved the young Samus, at the cost of her own life, and not too soon after Samus was the sole survivor.

Eventually the same group of Chozo found Samus, and Old Bird decided to raise her as one of their own. Initially however, her chances of survival on their home planet of Zebes was slim. With that in mind, they gave Samus some Chozo DNA. It was there she lived for several years, learning and growing as both a person, and a warrior. While there she was also given the Bio-Mechanical Power Suit, something that would serve her in combat for years to come. At the age of 14, she left Zebes and set out for the Galactic Federation.

During her time serving under the Galactic Federation, she served under the man Adam Malkovich. At the time she was rebellious, albeit a valuable asset to the Galactic Federation's military. One day they learned that the Space Pirates had attacked the Chozo on Zebes, and Samus was one of the first to rush to help. They arrived quickly, and it turned out the Space Pirates had taken over, and even Mother Brain had joined them. They offered Samus a place as the leader of the Space Pirates, but she refused. Afterwords Ridley appeared, and taunted Samus, sending her into a brief moment of PTSD, something the Chozo helped her overcome. Soon after the remaining Chozo were evacuated.

After serving with Adam for a while longer, Samus departed from the military, and struck out on her own. In her time as a Bounty Hunter, people quickly came to respect her feats, and believed she was someone who could accomplish the impossible. She was soon summoned by the millitary, and sent off to Zebes once more, to infiltrate the Space Pirate's base, and destroy them. Whilst exploring Samus grew stronger, picking up odd items that her suit were strangely incompatible with. She defeated the generals Kraid, and most of all her arch nemesis, Ridley. Then, it was on to Mother Brain.

In the depths of the Chozo facility, all the Space Pirates had been killed. And it was by the hand of the very species they were cloning from the Chozo's research, the Metroids. Using her Ice Beam, Samus tore through the Metroids and fought her way to Mother Brain, who was protected by several defense systems. However, not even these were enough to stop her, and Samus destroyed Mother Brain, unwittingly activating a self destruct mechanism. She escaped with her life, the Space Pirate and Chozo facilities destroyed in the blast.

Immediately after she was gunned down by the Space Pirates, and crashed back on the surface of Zebes. And just to make her situation worse, her Power Suit ceased functioning. Slowly but surely she infiltrated the Space Pirate mothership, before being forced back into the Ruins. In these Ruins, Samus found an ancient piece of technology that forced Samus to battle herself, a test she easily triumphed over. As a reward for this victory, Samus was given the powers she had lost, and she tore through the Pirate's defenses, stealing a ship and making it out, before the Mothership too went up in an explosion.

This was far from Samus' last mission. Soon afterwords, Samus had to deal with the Phazon crisis. She did battle with the Metroid Prime, a Metroid injected with Phazon by the Space Pirates, and saved the planet Aether from being torn in half by its light and dark sides. In the first incident, Samus unknowingly created a being known as Dark Samus, a creature of Phazon. In the second incident, Samus thought Dark Samus defeated. But she was wrong. 6 months after saving the Luminoth of Aether, she was called to the battleship G.F.S Olympus. And it was on that battleship, she was infected with Phazon by Dark Samus. It was an ordeal Samus overcame, at the cost of the lives of 3 other Bounty Hunters, but life went on.

Once the Phazon crisis had been resolved, the federation gave Samus a new mission. A mission to destroy all the Metroids on what was now their home planet, SR388. And destroy them all she did. She tore through the Metroids, uncovering that in the presence of Beta Radiation, into far more powerful forms. She dubbed these individually the Alpha Metroid, the Gamma Metroid, the Zeta Metroid, and the powerful Omega Metroid. However, these were far from the only forms. There was one final Metroid Samus had to destroy, the deadly Queen Metroid. It was an arduous fight, but Samus emerged victorious. Immediately after, Samus came across an unhatched egg, and from it emerged a baby Metroid.

Samus gladly took it from the planet, unable to kill the Metroid that believed her to be its mother. She gave it to the Galactic federation for research, but immediately after the space station she gave it to the Space Station Ceres and left, the very station was attacked by Space Pirates. She delved into it, and found the Baby Metroid had been stolen by Ridley. She chased the Pirate General back to planet Zebes, where she learned that he, Kraid, and Mother Brain had all returned. Two more generals had been added to their ranks as well, Phantoon and Draygon. She destroyed the four generals, and set off after Mother Brain once more.

In the depths of Tourian, she was attacked by a massive Metroid. All her weaponry was useless and it latched on, draining her energy away. It was just before she would have died however... The Metroid stopped, and floated away. This Metroid was the Baby, guilt stricken by hurting what it believed to be its mother. This did not deter Samus, and she took off after the Metroid, and fought her way past the clones and towards Mother Brain. At first it was the same battle as previously, and Samus thought she had easily defeated Mother Brain... But she was wrong. Oh so very wrong. Mother Brain was packing an all new cybernetic body, Samus was no match for Mother Brain's weaponry, and was only saved by the Baby Metroid, which sacrificed itself to save her, even giving her the Hyper Beam, which Samus used to destroy Mother Brain, (save some animals that taught her how to use the Shinespark) and get out of dodge before the entirety of Zebes exploded.

After her battle on Zebes, Samus was debriefed by the Galactic Federation and dealt with the Bottleship incident, in which the Federation was engaging in illegal bioweapons research, which even included cloning the Space Pirates, Metroids, and attempting to recreate Mother Brain. Samus was there at the time, and assisted in dealing with the situation alongside Adam Malkovich and her past crew. None of them survived, except for Anthony Higgs. It's unknown what happened afterwards, but some time later, the hardened bounty hunter was called upon by the federation once more.

This was supposed to be a simple mission. How wrong they were. While escorting researchers on planet SR388 now that it was Metroid free, Samus was infected by a creature they would later come to call an X Parasite. They thought nothing of it at the time, and eventually returned to their ships. Whilst in her gunship, Samus was knocked unconscious by the parasite that had infected her nervous system, and crashed into a meteorite, only saved by its auto ejection system. The X had completely taken over her nervous system, and it was only a serum devised with the DNA of the parasite's natural predator that saved Samus. More specifically, the DNA of a Metroid. To make matters worse, her suit had been infected as well, and pieces of it needed to be surgically removed to save her, leaving her far weaker than she had ever been.

The Chozo had in fact created the Metroids to try and control the X, and it was this that saved her. She made an astonishing recovery, despite an initial 1% chance of success, and her biology was permanently altered. Although her appearance without the suit remained untouched, she was left with only the Fusion Suit as a result. On top of that, she gained the ability to absorb the X to regain powers, energy, and missiles, but as a side effect she gained the Metroid's trademark weakness to cold. Samus couldn't help but ponder the fact that the baby had now saved her twice.

Not too soon afterwords, Samus was given a new Gunship by the Federation, alongside an AI to give her orders from the Federation. One that reminded her so much of Adam, she even named it after him. She was then sent off to the BSL research station to investigate an unexplained explosion in the Quarantine bay. What she found was horrifying. The station had been abandoned, taken over by the X. And to make matters worse, the X in her suit had taken on her appearance, becoming the SA-X, with all her old powers and abilities. Outgunned and outnumbered, the X made several attempts to kill Samus. And thanks to the SA-X they nearly succeeded, it was only her wits and the steady regaining of old powers that kept her alive.

Whilst trying to figure out how to put a stop to the X, Samus discovered that much to her shock, the Federation had been cloning Metroids. (Again. Because they didn't learn from the Bottle Ship.) What was more shocking however, was seeing the SA-X attempt to destroy them. Ultimately it failed, however, and the Metroid section of the station was ejected and destroyed to avoid containment breach. The AI was absolutely furious that Samus had interfered in top secret research, and locked Samus into the navigation room. The Federation was coming to collect the X, and had been manipulating Samus the entire time. No less than 10 SA-X were on the station now, and Samus determined she had to destroy the X, even if it meant taking herself with them.

Samus desperately tried to reason with the AI, suddenly spurting out her nickname of Adam for it, despite it never having heard it. Naturally it was confused, and managed to deduce that Adam had sacrificed his life for Samus, and suddenly began taking on the persona of Adam Malkovich, letting her out and giving her orders to cause the station to destruct then get to her Gunship, even finishing it with their silently agreed upon "any objections, lady?" She rushed to do just that, and after setting up the self destruct switch, had an encounter with the SA-X. It was the most intense battle of Samus' life, even managing to outdo her past battles with Ridley, but in the end Samus came out victorious. In a last moment, the SA-X fled before Samus could absorb it, and she set out for her gunship.

As she approached, she was shocked to see the Gunship gone, but to make matters worse, a single Metroid clone had survived. And it was a clone of an Omega. Samus' weapons were useless against it, and she was quickly brought to her knees on the verge of death, when suddenly she was saved by the SA-X of all things. Whether it was in an act of self preservation or respect, Samus didn't know. It was still weak from their previous battle however, and instead gave itself up to be absorbed by Samus, finally putting her back at full power. She still couldn't take nearly as much of a hit, the durabillity of her suit likely compromised forever, but she finally had the Ice Beam back, and she quickly used it to dispatch the Omega. Then, and only then did her Gunship appear.

The station crashed to the surface of SR388, exploding and taking it, the X, and the entire planet with it. Samus escaped in time, and much to her surprise it was the animals she had saved from Zebes that had piloted the ship. They had been aboard the research station, and Samus had rescued them from containment. It would appear they had finally returned the favor. And, it turned out, Adam was in fact the uploaded intelligence of Adam Malkovich. So, her mission complete, Samus was now public enemy number one. It wasn't the first time Samus had taken part in the destruction of Bio Weapons research, but it had become far less illegal in the recent years, now that its largest opponent Adam was gone. With no where to turn to, Samus set off into the galaxy, in search of her next adventure.

PERSONALITY

Samus is an... Odd person. She craves adventure, but knows the risks that comes with it all too well. Off the field, she's a woman barely held together through mental discipline and meditation. She's seen forms of combat her entire life, and that includes its horrors. She keeps it locked away behind firm mental barriers, but it occasionally leaks out. And it's something she refuses to let others see. On the field, she's unflappable. She's occasionally startled, or caught off guard, but she has a determination that's near impossible to make waver. Even when she's slowly losing her mind to outside influence, she'll keep fighting, and she'll make sure she wins.

 • Training

Samus is skilled in both Martial Arts, and athletics. Even when she's out of her suit, she's surpassed the limits of normal humans, giving her an above average strength, speed, and flexibillity. It's not much of a difference compared to martial artists that have trained their whole lives, but she's still one tough cookie.
 • Fusion Suit

An alteration of her normal power suit, this is Samus' bread and butter. Its physical defenses have been weakened due to parts of her suit being removed to save her from the X Parasite, but it still protects her from some nasty hits. This thing allows her to be comfortable in sub zero temperatures, despite her now somewhat Metroid DNA making her weak to the cold without it, and she can explore molten lava while only sweating a little bit.

 • Power Beam

The weakest of Samus' arsenal, this thing still isn't to be messed with. After all, it's a laser cannon. That's reason enough to stay away, even if it isn't the most powerful.

 • Charge Beam

The Charge Beam makes Samus' Power Beam far more dangerous. It allows her to charge up a shot, that when released hits far harder, and can hit a far larger radius. Not to mention, when front flipping it gives her a discount Screw Attack, allowing her to damage foes on contact.

 • Spazer Beam

The Spazer increases the size of her shots and gives them more power. It stacks with all Beams.

 • Wave Beam

The wave beam not only gives Samus even more power, it can stack with other beams and goes through walls! Useful on its own, deadly with other beams.

 • Ice Beam

The Ice Beam is a mean song and dance on its own, freezing opponents solid. Her foes can break out of this ice, or if they're hot enough simply not be effected, but it's not fun all the same. And just to make things worse, it stacks with her other beams.

 • Plasma Beam

This is Samus' strongest beam of all. The reason being is in the name. Not only does it ALSO stack with other beams, it fires Plasma. PLASMA. Do you know how hot that stuff is?! And just to make things even stranger, it does in fact stack with the Ice Beam, meaning Samus can burn you alive and freeze you solid at the exact same time! That is not something you want to mess with!

 • Missiles

For when Samus feels like making things go kaboom, she has a solid arsenal of 120 missiles on hand. You see that thing pop out of her beam cannon, watch out. There are a lot of explosions that are about to be rocketing off.

 • Morph Ball

This is a strange little piece of Chozo technology. The standard Fusion Suit is quite bulky, so what did they do? Make it so that Samus can roll into a ball. This thing is fast, and only 1 meter in diameter, allowing her to squeeze into some really tight spaces, and yet still move as if she's chasing someone at a dead sprint.

 • Bombs

Because she wasn't dangerous with one way to make things go boom, now she has two. While in Morph Ball she can drop up to 3 bombs that shortly go off. To make things stranger, these things can float, and with the little shockwave they give off can allow her to go up. She can then drop one in the air, then one on the ground. This is a chain that can go on for quite some time if she wishes. Not that she wants to, it's tedious, and the timing is finicky as hell.

 • Space Jump

The only way to fly. Using the Space Jump Samus can take to the sky and jump. Then again. Then a third time. A fourth if she so wishes. She needs to be performing flips for this to work, but it can let her, for all intensive purposes, fly. It's loud though, so there's that.

 • Speed Booster

GOTTA GO FAST! Ahem, jokes aside, this thing really does let Samus well, go fast. It automatically activates after she's been at a dead run for a few seconds, and when it does Samus is a blue train of death. Slamming into, and THROUGH things that get in her way, Samus moves at a much faster pace, and can only be stopped by the hardier of foes, and walls. Of course, there's all the Shine Spark that this provides, allowing Samus to store the Speed Booster's charge, then go rocketing off through the air. This can take up her energy, however.

 • Grapple Beam

One of Samus' more situational tools, it allows her to latch onto some objects and swing from them.

 • Scan Visor

This wonderful peace of technology allows Samus to scan other lifeforms, translate other languages, and keeps a massive log of other lifeforms, past scans, etc.
 • Security Pistol

It acts more like a taser than anything. It still fires pure energy like her beam weaponry, but at most is capable of stunning people. It's not her first weapon of choice, but it works.

 • Altered DNA

Samus is only partially human at this point. She has the DNA of humans, being born as such, the Chozo, granted her their DNA to increase her chances of survival on Zebes, and just recently it was altered again by the Metroid Vaxine, making her able to absorb the X Parasite, and yet with its signature weakness to cold without her Fusion Suit.
